As of 12:30 P.M. on 6/21/16 – here is the update on the fires in North Azusa and North Duarte, CA
Neighborhood Improvement Coordinator Martin Quiroz from City of Azusa
o The Fish fire and Reservoir fire are now being referred to as one fire called the San Gabriel Complex fire.
o The two fires have burned a combined 5,400 acres.
o Both fires have 0% containment.
o Hundreds of fire fighting personnel, including air drops, are fighting the fires.
o No structures have been damaged.
o More than 770 homes have been evacuated due to the fires.
o Evacuations are in place for Azusa communities of Mountain Cove; Rainbow Ranch;
o An evacuation center has been set up at 1600 Huntington Drive in Duarte. Large animal, such as horses, can be taken to the Pomona Fairplex.
o Both fires appear to have been caused by humans. The first fire, Reservoir, started after a fatal car crash on Highway 39. The second, Fish, is still under investigation.
